SUMMARY:Racing Fingers Quilt Guild General Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The meeting starts at 6:15 tonight to allow room for this amazing program! \nPatricia Hellenbrand is a teacher\, quilter\, creator\, and pattern writer. She is coming to us from Lodi\, Wisconsin\, which is along the beautiful Wisconsin River Valley. We are excited to have her back (after over 3 years) for a lecture and a workshop. The workshop will be Tuesday morning\, Nov 10. Click here for more info! \nIn 2006\, she started writing quilt patterns under the name Creek Side Stitches\, which is a pattern company dedicated to promoting the art of quilting. Many of the patterns use precuts such as Layer Cakes\, Charm squares\, and Mini Charm squares. \nPatti has been quilting for more than 35 years; she took her first quilting class through the local Technical College back in the 70s. She put quilting on the back burner to raise 3 beautiful daughters but kept up with sewing by making clothes and items for local craft shows.  In the late 1990s\, she got back into quilting and has not stopped since. \nTonight we will judge and reveal the 2026 RFQG Annual Challenge for the 250th Anniversary of America Quilts of Valor (QOV). Take a look at this year’s entries and vote on your favorite so that the top two winners will take home a $25 gift certificate to a local quilt store! \n  \n

SUMMARY:Racing Fingers Quilt Guild General Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Racing Fingers Quilt Guild is delighted to welcome Patricia Belyea of Okan Arts\, an award-winning quilt artist\, international lecturer\, and author of East-Meets-West Quilts\, and an expert in Japanese textiles and creative design. \nJoin Patricia for a colorful exploration of Japanese indigo and textile traditions in tonight’s Zoom presentation\, Indigo Adventures in Japan. \nThrough photographs\, stories\, and a virtual trunk show\, Patricia will introduce the artisans and dyeing studios preserving Japan’s remarkable textile heritage. She will share experiences visiting indigo masters\, traditional dyeing workshops\, and indigo farms. \nThe presentation will also feature Patricia’s quilts made with vintage Japanese cottons\, showing how centuries-old textile traditions can inspire fresh\, contemporary quilt designs. \nFor more than 20 years\, Patricia has explored the connections between contemporary quilting and traditional Japanese textiles. With her daughter\, Victoria Stone\, she leads Okan Arts\, which offers textile tours\, workshops\, and quilting experiences inspired by Japan’s rich artistic traditions. \nKnown for her bold compositions\, beautiful Japanese fabrics\, and innovative curved-piecing techniques\, Patricia encourages quilters to explore new possibilities and develop their own creative voices. \nClick here to learn more about her Racing Fingers workshop: \nFor Patricia’s biography\, quilt images\, and program information\, please visit Okan Arts: https://okanarts.com \n
