DESCRIPTION:Racing Fingers Quilt Guild is delighted to welcome Patricia Belyea of Okan Arts\, an award-winning quilt artist\, international lecturer\, and author of East-Meets-West Quilts\, and an expert in Japanese textiles and creative design. \nJoin Patricia for a colorful exploration of Japanese indigo and textile traditions in tonight’s Zoom presentation\, Indigo Adventures in Japan. \nThrough photographs\, stories\, and a virtual trunk show\, Patricia will introduce the artisans and dyeing studios preserving Japan’s remarkable textile heritage. She will share experiences visiting indigo masters\, traditional dyeing workshops\, and indigo farms. \nThe presentation will also feature Patricia’s quilts made with vintage Japanese cottons\, showing how centuries-old textile traditions can inspire fresh\, contemporary quilt designs. \nFor more than 20 years\, Patricia has explored the connections between contemporary quilting and traditional Japanese textiles.
