SUMMARY:Insulated Bag Class with Mindy
DESCRIPTION:In this class\, you will learn to make an insulated bag for transporting whatever it is that you need to control the temperature of\, be it chilled groceries from the store or a warm dish to a neighborhood potluck. \nThe finished size of the bag is approximately 17″ tall x 20″ wide x 6″ deep. If you want to try making a bag in a different size\, you will be able to modify it yourself after taking the class. We will all make the same size in the class. \nProvided in the class will be the inner insulated portion\, Peltex for the bottom\, webbing for the handles\, and a heavy-duty sport zipper. I have mostly black and white webbing and zippers\, but I do have a few colored options that I am willing to use as long as they last. If you have a very specific color that you want to use for your webbing and zippers\, you need 3 yards of webbing and a 24-inch or longer sport zipper. I like to use a bidirectional zipper\, but that is not mandatory. \nAll supplies will be provided\, except your chosen fabric for the outside of your bag. You need a piece of fabric; canvas or heavy home decor fabric is preferred\, in a size of 22 x 40”. If you choose to use regular cotton fabric\, you need to put interfacing on the back of it to give it stability. You should come to class with your fabric already cut and prepped. \nYou will need to bring all of your standard sewing supplies\, including a heavyweight Jean needle and something to mark the handle placement lines on the outside of your bag. I generally use a regular number two pencil because it will not show later. You will be sewing through the zipper\, and a standard needle is likely to break. \nYou also need thread to match your webbing handle. If you’re using one of mine in black or white\, you should be fine\, but if you bring your own colored webbing handle or choose one of the limited colors that I may have on hand\, make sure you bring thread in those colors. You will also need your wonder clips to hold your layers together. \nThe cost is $30 per person and is non-refundable. Limited to 15 participants. Click here to register!
