Quilts, Tea, and Creativity sponsored by RFQG took place on Saturday, March 20 at the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Daytona Beach. Approximately 120 people attended the quilt show and afternoon tea and were treated to a presentation and trunk show by textile artist Linda Matthews (linda-matthews.com).

Jean Roth led the group in putting this event together, and all RFQG members worked very hard to make it the success it was. Kudos to the entire membership of Racing Fingers, and thank you for a wonderful presentation!

The quilt pictured at right is the guild's 2009 Opportunity Quilt made by RFQG members using Barbara Siedlecki's pattern "Springtime Symphony."
The quilt contains 12 hand-applique'd wreaths in vibrant colors with black/gold batik sashing and borders. It was custom quilted by Kelly Wise at The Sew and Quilt Shop in Bunnell (click on photo to view larger image).
The quilt was on display at QuiltFest Jacksonville in September, 2009 and at the World Quilt Show (Florida Division) in West Palm Beach in November. The quilt will be raffled, and tickets are available for $1 each. For tickets, contact any RFQG member.
